Description
A Launceston Bank For Savings Money Box Savings Tin in good condition. Dates from early 1970’s as the design and removable base is the same as used by the State Savings Bank in Victoria around 1973.
This bank was based in Tasmania and went through several mergers in the period from 1970 and into the 1990’s. Touted as Australia’s oldest savings bank commencing business in 1835.
This tin is a re-usable design with a special key required to unlock the base. The lithograph artwork on the main faces shows some age related wear but is in good overall condition.
